Rapper Earl Simmons, more popularly known by his stage names DMX and Dark Man X, was sentenced on July 14 to six months in prison in the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo for failing to pay $400,000 in child support, a statement from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office showed, according to WGCL-TV Atlanta
In an interview with local news channel WPIX-TV, a New York City Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the 44-year-old rapper was taken into custody moments before he was set to perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for a couple of “issues outstanding,” one of which was the unpaid child support.
